These are portraits of kids attending small village schools in different regions of Russia. Located far from big cities, the number of pupils at these schools varies from ten to one hundred.

These kids grow up side by side in small, isolated places as if hidden from the outside world. With almost no entertainment available, their relationships with each other become the only source of excitement.

There is always a melancholically feel to their reflections about the future and sometimes it feels like time has stopped in these schools. If I come back in twenty years, will the same kids come out to greet me on the school porch?
