The boys on the photos are 11-15 years old and all attend some kind of a military or cadet school, taking immense pride in being a part of the world of men. They straighten their backs, frown, try to seem serious and manly. They don’t know that their figures look fragile and vulnerable, their faces almost girlish. The uniform can’t hide their childish freckles or soft locks of hair. Still, the anticipation is there, something is about to change very soon. If you look at their faces long enough, you can get a glimpse of the men they’ll become.
